Grommets and stuff

Grommet stuff from CorsetMaking Supplies arrived today. I LOVE the grommet setter. Soooo much better than Dritz.

So, inbetween cleaning, planting and showing the house I did a test run with the corset/bodice. Here's a front view and a back view. Yes, that "lacing" is really utility twine. No, I'm not going to use it in the final version. The final version will also be laced on either side of the front. I just didn't feel like making 2 sets of lacing strips to test this with. Didn't think I'd have enough grommets to do it. LOL!

This has already had some adjustments to it: one "bone" removed from either side of the back piece and a bit off the bottom. I'm still getting a wrinkle there so I think I need to remove a bit more. I'm thinking about removing the back tabbies too.

The lining fabric for Bob's coat came in today. Its a bit darker than I'd imagined, but I think it will do just fine. The velved for the fashion side of the corset it here too. So once I get this thing covered prettily, I'll be (nervously) setting it with grommets.
