Dispatches from the City of Angels

I'm a writer and humorist living in and writing about Los Angeles. You can catch my novel LOSING CLEMENTINE out March 6 from William Morrow. In the meantime, feel free to poke around. Over at my website you can find even more blog entries than I could fit here, as well as a few other ramblings. Enjoy and come back often.

I'm actually only a little scary

I gave a stationary bike to my writer pal, Sue Ann Jaffarian. Having come to prefer the faster-moving, gut-churning, ass-kicking spin bike to my old recumbent one, it seemed only right that it go to a good home.

This act of goodwill became a blog, which spawned comments. My running habit was referred to as scary. Okay, actually I was referred to as scary, but I'm pretty sure Sue Ann meant the running habit. I am, of course, nothing but sweetness and light. (Sweetness and light, damn you!)

But I like this new-found, tough guy persona. I think I'll try growling more often. Scary people probably growl a lot. Also I should wear more leather. I'm considering purchasing things with studs.

Grrr....
