Dispatches from the City of Angels

I'm a writer and humorist living in and writing about Los Angeles. You can catch my novel LOSING CLEMENTINE out March 6 from William Morrow. In the meantime, feel free to poke around. Over at my website you can find even more blog entries than I could fit here, as well as a few other ramblings. Enjoy and come back often.

Cold Front (or what passes for one in L.A.)

I started out this morning in a skirt. Then after a couple of hours, the temperature dropped a good three degrees. (Who says L.A. doesn't have weather?) I got so cold, I took off the skirt and put on jeans. It's two hours later, and I'm starting to think about my evening plans. I'm driving downtown. That's inland, so the temperature is sure to go up a few degrees. But by then the sun will have gone down. I'll be walking around outside. It could be in the mid-60s for the love of God. I should definitely take a blazer, maybe a parka.

I swear if you took me to Minnesota, I'd die of exposure before ever getting out of the airport.
