Plain Banter
. . . lies about science fiction, and everything else.

When the writer becomes the center of his attention, he becomes a nudnik. And a nudnik who believes he's profound is even worse than just a plain nudnik. -- Isaac Bashevis Singer

Shaun Of The Dead

Saw the movie Shaun Of The Dead yesterday, and liked it a lot. It's a slightly funnier version of George Romero's zombie movies (Night Of The Living Dead, Dawn Of The Dead, Day Of The Dead). I say slightly funnier because I always thought Dawn Of The Dead was already a funnier version of Night Of The Living Dead, set in that bastion of suburban comfort -- the shopping mall.

Anyway, Shaun Of The Dead was pretty funny in its own right. Not likely to win any awards, but at the end of the summer like this, the pickings for new movies can get pretty slim. If you don't mind crude language and gore, this one's worth the two hours.
