My friend Kay is getting married on Valentine's Day. This is the second marriage for each. Both of the previous spouses died of cancer, 4 and 5 years ago. A new beginning, it should be great!

Today, we went to office supply stores, and craft stores, gathering items we would need to make their wedding invitations. Red and white paper, and red envelopes. She had purchased a double heart hole punch, and a little rectangular hole punch earlier. Double-sided red satin ribbon, and envelope closing stickers rounded out the shopping trip.

After lunch, back to my house, to start typing up the invite. She had one that she was using for the wording, and we just changed the names, and dates, and pertinent information. The next step would be to make a proto-type, using scrap paper and cheap curling ribbon. The typing was on white card stock, which we used double-sided tape to stick to a red card stock border. At this point, we used the rectangular hole punch, twice, and the top of each. The red ribbon was threaded through, and stuck out nicely in the front, on both sides (left and right). Then, the whole thing was taped to a black card stock border, making it double matted, per say...Not sure if my description is doing these justice, but they really did turn out wonderful. Very pretty, indeed, better than I thought they would be.

She was extremely pleased with them, which made me feel great about the whole thing. She has asked me to do the programs, too. That will be sometime in January, and a lot less complicated. I am looking forward to it!
