My last weekend of vacation for the year…

On Saturday, Mike and I ran a few errands, mapped a route for inserts into Kay's wedding invitations, had lunch at a cafe'...Nothing too interesting. We were to baby sit our granddaughter, Aurelia while her parents attend a Christmas Party. We decided to take dinner to their home to prepare and eat. We were heading out the door at 7:15, when Alisha calls to say they are running late, and hold off until she calls again, as they are out shopping, and there is no one home for us. There would be no time to cook dinner at home, and then go, so, we just sat and waited. We get there, and Mike plays Xbox and I care for the baby, while they get ready to go. After they leave, I feed Aurelia while I prepare dinner. I dig out the rice cooker, and get the stir-fry going. I declared dinner ready, and Mike was still playing his game.

I took the baby into the bedroom, and changed her diaper, and put her sleepers on, and fed her a bottle out on the couch. She fell asleep in my arms, so I put her to bed, and we didn't her a peep from her all night. I them fixed a plate and Mike jumped up and said oh...yeah, well you can eat too. We had just finished eating, when Caitlyn arrived to take over, so the old folks could go home and rest easy. Whew...easiest babysitting job ever...

Today, Mike and I never did get dressed into real clothes. Just relaxed in sweats/jammies all day. We did however accomplish quite a bit. We totally cleaned the living room, and made a space for a Christmas tree. It is a very small area overall and quite involved. He had to move the entire TV/stereo and surround sound to a different wall. He does have it all wired under the house, so each wall has plug ins for all of that stuff, making that easier, but still pretty grueling, as there is a boat-load of wires back there. We freed up the entire fireplace mantel, and put my entire collection of 101 Dalmatians on display. The whole room is bigger now, as the couch isn't in the middle, with the TV poking out from the wall, too. With it all pushed back, we gained a lot of living space.

We are having leftover stir-fry for dinner. I think he is finally showering now, something I still need to do.
I think I am on the schedule at 11 tomorrow, but I am not sure. Guess I will just wait to see if they call saying I am late. This vacation stuff is pretty cool. I could get used to it. Hell, I have missed more work this year than any year in my life. I need to get back.
