I keep being scheduled noon-8pm on every Friday. Let me just say, that shift sucks, big time. Thank goodness I am not the one in charge on that day. It would be worse to walk into the lunch hour, not knowing what has gone on earlier. Our deliveries come on Saturday morning, so we run out of stuff on Friday, more than any other day. There seems to be a lot of drama behind the scenes these days. I thought I was the only one that wasn't getting along with 3 of our managers, so I kept it to myself. I learned that one of our staff is so fed up with the BS those three are dealing, she has written a letter to give to the owner. I told her I had already gone to the boss in November over the same basic thing, and the one and I hashed it all out. I need to keep my nose clean these days, since "B" already has it in for me. I would back her up though, and say I am having the same issues, in a different sort of way. My issues are that one of those three does the scheduling. On Mondays, I am the only manager in the store, and I get the worst possible line up of crew to help me. On a Wednesday, when there are 4 or 5 managers, there is also 3-5 trainers working. I had NONE on Monday. My labor was at 13% Monday, while these guys are running at 19% or above. That scheduling manager gets her time off the floor, every Monday, while I am left alone. She cannot possible put it off for another day, when there is 4 others there...Today, those three made a Starbucks run, and didn't even tell me, or ask me if I wanted anything...they just went, and showed up with three drinks for themselves. They have no idea what signals they are sending me. I will never get along with them, it wont matter how much any of us try. I get home, and Mike has tacos ready to eat. This is one of the many reasons I love my man. He had the stereo blasting with jazz, and I didn't think he heard me come in. I snuck up behind him, and yet he sensed I was there, because he quickly put his arm around me, pulled me close, and kissed me. He said he did want to dance with me....but we didn't, cuz he never really does. Sometimes a hug is better anyway... |
