Mike and I have been wanting to ride the motorcycles around Washington State for quite some time. I swear something always come up, and we never make it. Since I joined a womens riding group, I have been associating with several others that ride, and they each seem to have their own styles. Scout is in my group. I have her to thank for a few different things. One, is this blog. I am writing things down these days, getting them off my chest. I got hold of her blog through her emails, and took off from there. My friend Shannon and I had been wanting to so something like this, and didn't know much about it. My other friend Temple, now refers to me as a blog-whore...I am okay with that.

Back to the Scout. She took a trip last year with her brother. She referred to it as their "Lead-Butt" I beleive. Now the Iron-Butt, is 1,000 miles in a 24 hour span. The Lead-Butt was more about getting to the destination in one piece, with the ability to move ones body once there. I am stealing tips from her, and we are doing it this summer.

We will leave the Seattle on July 18th, and head north. Going across the North Cascade Highway, towards Winthrop. I think we are leaning to setting up a campsite, and just going out on day trips for a couple of days. No big plans, no hotel reservations, just decide on the fly, until we make our way to Spokane, where we have people that we do not get to see too often. I plan on crashing at someones house, and letting love take over for a little while, then make our way to the Tri-Cities (wearing our cooling vests in the 100+ degree heat) to see my siblings.

Then, follow along the Columbia River a little, and make our way to Mount Rainier, to meet the ladies, who should be riding to Sunrise on July 25. Make our way northbound with them, if they will have us.

We stopped at AAA today, and got maps, and campground books, and loads of info...At least we are starting the planning stages. Since we have wanted to do it for so long, I don't want to say, "we shoulda done_______"

Work was pretty boring today...I got home, and realized I have the store telephone in my vest pocket, and had to make a return trip so they could get their complaints...what a pain in the ass...My nickname at work is (forgive my spelling of Spanish words) Mala Mongolita...the mean little retarded girl...I lived up to it today...
