Whew...I am tired! I woke early, and prepared myself for that photo seminar. It was very informative, I learned a lot. The guy, Ralph, knows his cameras. we all decided that us, as a group....do not know cameras. He asked a lady, "are you having any problems with your camera?" and she said, "yes, it is new, and I do not know how to work it"...Guy next to me said, I use "auto" for everything, it is my friend. I learned that most of us have digital cameras, and still, do not know how to use even the most basic of devices to their full potential. At least I was not alone. A guy from my chromeheads group came from Anacortes to join me. He rides the James Bond version of my bike. It was the first time I saw his bike, and boy, that man can talk for a long time. Let's see...how we all met. I saw his bike on Craig's list, before he bought it. A guy named John was selling it, along with the option to buy several accesories. I wanted those, but not the bike. I sent an email to John, stating I was interested, if the buyer was not. John told me that after the buyer has first option, then he would offer the rest to this "chromeheads" group. This group is made up of BMW R1200C owners, and admirers. Whatever, I wanted his stuff, and Herald the buyer of the bike, did not. I joined his group, and was able to purchase several "farkles and shitamuk". I got saddle bags and mounting brackets, engine guards, a throttle lock, a chrome alternator cover from John. The biggest advantage to this group, is general maintenance on the bike itself. They get together to change the oil, lube stuff, and help each other out if there is a mechanical issue. Of course, I am the only girl, and that presents a problem to the male egos. I don't really work on my bike, I offer sexual favors to Mike to do that stuff. It works out well at my house. Anyway, The saddlebags were keyed to the original bike, now Heralds JB bike, in Anacortes. We arranged to meet and he lent me the key to his bike for an afternoon, and I went to Ride West BMW shop, and had them key those bags to match my bikes key. I bought Herald a small gift at the dealership for allowing me to use his key, and now he thinks we are best friends. The two meetings on that day, and the one today were both without Mike present. Maybe he thinks I am lonely? I dunno...he is old and gross, and won't shut up. oh, and he dropped that bike, and really screwed up the head on the right side...he should have bought those engine guards. hehehehe, I am so glad they are on my bike! We didn't go out for a photo shoot, like I had hoped for. The sky was overcast, and no one really seemed interested. I did not want to ride with the Herald, so I went out alone. I didn't want to go on twisty roads, as the backroads may have been damp and slick, so I stayed on the dreaded freeway system. South on 405 to see if Mike was done with work, he wasn't, so I took the best off/on ramp in the Seattle area...The north on 405 to west on 522 interchange. If you slow down enough to give yourself a lot of space in between you and the guy in front of you, you can hit maybe 70mph on that thing. It has banked corners, and is made for speed. It is my favorite, and I don't get many opportunities to ride it. Got home, waited for Mike to arrive, so I could use the Jeep to go shopping. Played around on photobucket, and still I am HTML stoopid. I will get it, and very soon...I am very close... I went to JCP, and got a few new articles of clothing. Mike came with me, and once we walked inside, I told him to get the hell out of here. I have no desire for him to wait around, and me to see the old lady clothes that fit, and I would just get angry, and leave without getting anything. That wedding is next Saturday, and I didn't have a thing to wear. They have a big sale, and a coupon in yesterdays paper. I did okay, spent $117 and got 1) jeans 2) dress slacks 3)blouse (do people still say that word?) 4) three polos shirts and 5) sexy shoes...yes, really, I got all that for that out the door price! We stopped at Circuit City, and wished we hadn't, then to the grocery store. Got stuff for a 30-minute lasagna substitute, and came home to make dinner, and watch GOnzaga lose horrendously. We watched 2 missed episodes of CSI on demand, and now I am writing this, so I can get to bed. Gotta work tomorrow so I can rest. This day off stuff is exhausting. |
