A woman in the drive-thru today, held up traffic at the speaker, then at the pay window. She didn't speak clearly and was unsure of what she wanted. At the pay window, she presented a coupon that had expired. It was buy a premium chicken sandwich, and get a medium fry and a medium drink for free. She wanted to buy a $1 chicken sandwich, and get the fry and drink free. Talk about give a little, and take a lot, huh? When Lily said no deal to her, she became very unpleasant and wanted to see the manager in charge. When Lily told her that she was indeed the assistant manager, and there was no one here above her, and still, no deal. The lady then said, "look, this is holding up the entire operation of the place, the line is at a standstill, just do it this one time." Lily, being weaker than I, caved..I had no idea what was going on, as I was busy up front with other aspects. When Lily came up and told me, I was appalled. I asked her, "Did you have enough time to spit in her food?" (not that I would really do that, but it does make us smile thinking about that type of control) Then the lady wasn't happy with the fries, and wanted hotter ones. THEY WERE HOT! DAMMIT! I gave her fries that just came out of the oil, but I failed to fill if to the full mark, just to piss her off, and make me smile. Then, she came inside, to ask for mayo packets...she called me sweetie...ewwww...I never saw Lily so upset before. I let her take a break and cool off a bit. I finished the deposit in 30 minutes, and got the hell out of there quick. I needed to stop by the bank, deposit Mikes paycheck, and withdraw the tax refund. I will just spend it on stupid things like living expenses and bills if it sits there. Got home in time to relax a bit, and watch the Duke/North Carolina game at 6...helluva game boys. UNC has won the last 4 games at Duke, over the 4-year period. I would love to attend a game there. My dreams are not normal. I threw dinner together during halftime. It consisted of the leftover chicken from last night. I poured BBQ sauce on it, and heated it, and a bowl of corn in the microwave, and toasted bread. I had mine with a tall glass of moo-juice. Tomorrow, I babysit Aurelia, and we spend the day with Kay. Kay just wants me to occupy her mind. huh? I have NO IDEA what the three of us will be doing. Trying to keep her frazzled mind on one topic? That wont work. She is scatter-brained these days, so close to the wedding. She thinks she has told me things, but really, I have learned more from others than I have from her. Like how much time off she has taken from work for the wedding, and honeymoon. Like where they are going. I don't work again until Sunday. I told her I was all hers for these few days. I will do whatever she needs done. Fetching folks from the airport, supplying labor for the decorating, just being there...whatever. |
