I haven't been to work since Wednesday, and walked into HELL today. I glance at the schedule and see my name has two hours of "birthday party" at 1:00, along with Derrick, and then Krystina has a party at 3:00. I say, "What, three parties, two of them at 1:00?" Turns out, there is a total of two parties, but Derrick and I will be together for the 1:00 party. Seems the mother of the 4 year old wants the world for her son, yet she booked it in a Playland.

She signed up for the party, then was upset that we would not close the entire Playland for the duration of the party. We always keep it open for regular guests to use. The party would normally have the party room to theirselves. Not this mom, she has 24 kids coming to the monster party. We are set up for ten children per party, and can go above that number on occasions. TWENTY-FOUR KIDS!! When "B" told her that we would not close the entire thing for her, she got upset, and chose to go above "B's" head, talking to the supervisor about it. The supe agreed with "B" and after 30 minuites, he sent her to the owner of the place. The owner told her that the Playland would be open. We would set up for the kids in the regualar seating area of the Playplace, and one crew and one manager would cater to their needs.

I felt as if I was the "Bouncer", I stayed near the door, and made sure others could come and go. "MOM" came to me one time, saying a child was being mean to the birthday kids. Whatever, there are about 50 kids in there, they are KIDS...

So Derrick had the hard job, dealing with "MOM" and taking orders, and getting the food, and setting up the cake, and ice-cream. We had to be ready for a normal party at 3:00. "MOM" had her own tablecloths over all the tables. We used every table in the entire store for her party, bringing them into the play area. Still, she wanted more chairs. We stole a cart from the kitchen, and used it for gifts, so we could utilize that table for seating. I told Derrick that he and I were going for a glass of wine at 3:00...Somehow we survived her wrath...Some of the people, you just cannot please.

I can barely talk, by throat still hurts. I look forward to one day being not so sick. I am exhausted beyond belief, haven't done so much in quite a while. I am sure I will sleep soundly tonight, as long as I can breathe.
