Since I had nothing to do today, I chose to turn my phone to "Silent" last night, instead of waking to an alarm. I woke up late, and came out to watch basketball games, leaving the phone in the bedroom, and not thinking about it until Caitlyn woke up around 11:30. We sat and talked for a while, then I went to get my phone. I had two texts, one missed call, and one voice mail. I checked the missed call first, found it was Kay, and she left a message, so I listened to that. She wanted to know what happened at my store with "B". (remember I was off yesterday too, so I don't know)I then read the texts, one of which said, "Did "B" just walk out, or was she fired?"...WHATWHAT??...So, I call Kay, without looking to see what time it is, and she is busy working, and answers the phone anyway. Tells me she can't talk right now, call ya later... I was planning on going in to the store today, to get my paystub. I checked the bank statement earlier, and I got paid more money than I was expecting, and wanted to see the actual stub to verify why that was. Since I don't really talk to any of the other managers, I was left to ponder various scenarios. Throughout the day, I heard various possibilities. I didn't really want to go snooping around, but I did need that stub, so I went in. No one there knows a thing. Possible that any of these happened: 1) "B" quit 2) "B" was fired 3) "B" was suspended for a week 4) "B" went on some sort of medical leave me? I have no idea, but if she isn't at that store, then I don't see a big reason for a 30 mile commute to do my job. I watched a lot of ball today, the best games were this evening, when two games went into overtime. CBS did a great job cutting back and forth between them, it was confusing, and fun. Mike and Caitlyn both got into them, which was surprising to me. My brackets are all shot to hell for now, we will see again after Saturday and Sundays games, when the Sweet Sixteen are settled. I stopped at Trader Joe's and picked up pizza dough. I made sauce, and we had a decent meal. |
