Someone really should tell Mother Nature that the calendar says it is spring...We had a few nice days, but those went to hell pretty fast. Kay and Al had their first family dinner today, with both sides of the families showing up. There were a whole lot of people crammed into the house, and it was raining like crazy outside. The Easter Bunny had time to hide special eggs for all the kids, it was well choreographed, with each kid having a certain color of egg to find. That way, the bigger kids could not just take all the easy eggs from the little ones. Yes, they all were hidden outside, as we in Seattle just take it...well, I didn't as I no longer have a kid in that catagory. Dinner was the best I ever had there. Seems Al put his foot down on Kays boneless-tasteless ham, and bought a whole bone-in-spiral-cut-half-the-damn-pig-goodness, and he cooked it himself. We each brought side dishes of our choice. I made my families famous potato rolls, and those went over very well, as always. The enormous group seemed to divide into 'his half', and 'her half', but I thought we mingled pretty well for starters. Mike and I came home and slid into sweats and booties, and curled up on the couch to watch Milk. I thought it was very well done, and enjoyed it quite a bit. I am a supporter! The Mariners are now three games OVER 500, sitting on top of the A.L. West. Weird, but true! I return to work tomorrow, after having 4 days off. It has felt great, but I am ready to get off my ass. I am not one to sit around too long. |
