My 'redneck' friend wants me to add this so we can all share her side...oh, and I never really thought of her as a redneck until I saw a few episodes of "My Big Fat Redneck Wedding"...These folks have get-togethers that I would not miss out for anything. The coolest wedding I ever attended was with this group, and I intend to have my 25th wedding anniversary spent in much the same way. I love my peeps!

-------------------------------------------

From the Redneck Party planner (owner and creater of the giant burger): Hell yes, that is a normal function for us. The only way it had been more fun would have been if my pool was up and had been 85 degrees outside. Now for a couple of addendum clarifications to the BBQ story. The fire pit is four feet across from side to side. It is tapered to the ground so at the bottom is probably 2 1/2 feet across. It was a coal sifter at the local mine-before it became my favorite fire pit of all times. At our new house (coming soon), it will be surounded by some flat rock to emmulate a sun with the fire pit being the core of course.

Also, Peg - in your haste to go home (or shop as it were) you missed out on the 8pm 2nd fire meal of yes, that's right Top Sirloin Stir Fry!!!! It was delicous. Rob and Mike cooked it to perfection. You also missed our road trip to show everyone the new house and for Mike and Rob to get more beer. Mikey came back with a 18 pack of coors light and Rob had a 30 pack of Busch light...keep in mind by this point Mike, Rob and Chad were the only ones drinking beer. (side bar: we had 2 designated drivers take us on our road trip) Shorty (b-day Girl and honoree of the giant burger) of course had Jason (her gay best bud) run her to the local grocery for 2 bottles of Boones Farm "wine" (it's actually a malted fruit beverage-if you look at the lable) tastes a lot like Koolaid.

Redneck you say...I say...Hell Yeah! If you are having trouble picturing all this, I highly recommend seeing the music video by the Zach Brown band for the song, "chicken fried". It's quite accurate.

from Byc:
I watched the video, and it is almost like being there! Yes, I would say they know how to have a good time. I wish I had time to just go stay for a few days, I never get enough time with my friend. Her mom wants to come stay with me for a few weeks, and I am seriously contemplating it.

------------------------------------------------

Work was just another Sunday for me. I clock in at 11:00, and the Y-twin is off. Today, the strongest person was also off at 11:00. I had one trainer, but they had her in the back booth, and she needed a 30 minute lunch break...yay me.

There was a birthday party at 5:00, with not a one person on the schedule that knows how to do one. yay me...

I had 3 new crew, none of them qualified yet for much, two of them only know one position, and yes, it was the same position, so I was screwed....yay me...

oh, and I had "B" in-store all day, yet she didn't really help too much, although she did a very good job of staying out of my way, which meant she was not up my ass, like normal. yay me?

------------------------------------------------

I rode the Shadow to work today. I have not ridden it since the one time I rode it last summer. I had a hard time using the turn signals, as I am used to the German way, which made me honk the horn each time I disabled the left signal. I used to think my Shadow was pretty cool. I mean, it still is, just hard to downsize, I guess. Now this isn't as cool a Shadow as Layla, the one the Scout rides. Hers truly is cool. It is bigger, and newer, has an awesome paint job, and a custom seat. Mine is none of those. Mine is a 1985 500cc...I don't know the year of hers, but it is rather new, I think she has about 20,000 miles, all her own on it. I bought mine five years ago, and it had only 2,000 miles, and it now has 24,000...I have ridden the hell out of it in a short time. So, I rode it about 6 miles, and sent Mike a text...Let's sell it, and put the money towards your new bike. It runs great, and is a great 'between' bike. I had not ridden in 15 years or so, instead raising children. I could not stand to see my Yamaha sitting, not ever being ridden, so I had sold it. I was ready to start riding again, but I didn't have a bike. I really didn't want to start again on a big bike, in the Seattle area, so I bought a used Rebel 250 and rode it all summer. It was at the end of that summer I found the Shadow. I really thought that bike would be the last one I would ever have. It took me all over, and we had a great time. I was able to take Caitlyn all over on it, and it got me out on the freeway at a pretty decent clip. then...I rode that Beemer...There is no comparism. Now, I see myself on a GS one day. That would be incredible. I grew up on mini-bikes, riding in the dirt field at grandma's. A dual sport bike would suit me just fine...one day...

--------------------------------------
Mike made spaghetti for dinner. I am still hungry, but I really don't need anything else, so I will just head to bed in a few mintues.
