The carpeting in Caitlyns room is old, and nasty. She showed it to me a couple weeks ago, but I had offered to replace it a few years ago, and she didn't want to give it up. I figured she was still attached or something, and left her alone this time. I wanted to put the laminate flooring down, like we have in the rest of the house. She wanted carpeting, and I couldn't afford it. Whatever..now she is ready. So, we go to IKEA today to pick up some laminate, so we can eventually do the dirty work. IKEA is a 45 minute drive from home, so we don't go too often. I calculated the square footage, and we would need more than four boxes, but less than 5...yeah, we need five. Of the type I wanted, they had only 3 boxes. THREE! "We should get a shipment within a week or two"...crap, that is a long time. I did not want to buy 3 boxes, then find out the shipment had a change of color, or pattern, or whatever...so, we got nothing. Well, I mean I bought a few frames, some gift wrap, a knife...$25 worth of stuff. But, it was a wasted trip in the long run. Aurelia was great today. She loves riding in the car, and she had Caitlyn and her friend Erin both next to her. I felt silly driving in the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lane since there was not a passenger in the front seat, and the windows are tinted pretty well. I took Aurelia into my new (old) store this morning, to check my schedule for next week. I was nearly knocked down with greetings, and hugs. It really does feel great knowing that is where I belong, and I am returning. My schedule has me all over the clock, something I truly hate, but I swear it still beats where I have been, and what I have been through. I will still be off on Thursdays to babysit, and Saturdays to spend time with my husband. I have two 11-7 shifts, Monday and Friday. Those are fine...One day I start at 7pm, then next at 3pm...on Mothers Day, I have to be there at 3am...omg, I doubt I will sleep much. I hope Alisha has a late start on Thursday next week, as I am off at midnight the night before. ugh... Dinner was a BBQ flank steak, garlic green beans, and rice. |
