First... Kat, I am sorry, I don't have the recipe for Twila's cookies. If she gives it to me with permission to print it here, I will...they are pretty darned good. Alisha called me this morning, saying that Aurelia has chicken pox, one of the very few cases that came from the vaccine. Great...my genes prevail, as I am in the top 2% of women with my color-blindness. She was careful to put this statement: "DO NOT TAKE MY CHILD OUTSIDE OF THIS HOME AT ALL TODAY" Well, she said it a lot nicer than that, but that was the just of it. When I get there, I see her neck is broke out with what looks like a rash. At the first diaper change, I am able to see her torso, taking the onsie shirt up a bit. She has this a bit over that area, but not too badly. She was in great spirits, taking her new Fisher-Price walker/stroller for a cruise at 90 mph. She never appeared feverish. Had a good nap, then ate, pooped, played, tore apart the place, played, fell asleep on the couch, with me massaging her head. I layed her into the crib, and she woke up pissed off, so I took her back out and cuddled for 45 minutes while she slept. That is why I do this...I like the cuddles from her. Anyway, by the time Chris came home, she was covered everywhere, 'cept her diaper area, arms and legs. I took pictures with their digital camera. Chris tells Alisha on the phone that she looks terrible. As soon as she comes home, they rush her to the walk-in clinic. I came home, and googled the MMR vaccine. I am not a doctor, but none of that really fit the scenario. Measles comes with that type of rash, but with coughing, sneezing, and a high fever. I called Alisha to see what was up, and she says the doctor has no real diagnosis, but it is a viral rash of some sort. Since she has no fever, and not at all cranky, or fussy, lets just watch her. Caitlyn made dinner for us. It was sloppy joes with chicken, and a side of corn. It was pretty good! I had one of my 7 oz Coronitas with it. That is the perfect size beer for me. The bottom of the bottle is still cold when I get there, and I even catch a tiny buzz...what a cheap date, lightweight...don't even remember when I had my last beer. |
