Things on my mind: Grandma, Porcupines are something out of the old Betty Crocker Cookbook. My mom made them once in a while, and I loved them as a kid, and my kids love 'em now. Decent quality ground beef, mixed with uncooked rice, and some 'stuff', then make into meatballs with water added for absorbtion. Add tomato sauce, mixed with "whatsithere" (worchestshire) sauce, mixed with more water, poured over the top to cover. Bake forever to cook clear through (not really fover, but the smell permeated the house, and drvies me nuts.) Vacation next month...I have been told that I can not, under any circumstances have the week of vacation that I have had marked in the books for months. This annoys the hell out of me, as there is no one at my current new store for that week. The reason? Because we have a full on inspection coming...in friggen August. Mid-August, August 18th to be exact. The store manager will not let anyone have a vacation during all of July or August until after the said inspection. I cannot imagine what will happen if we score poorly. These inspections come every once in a while, not even yearly. I have seen more cancelations of these things than actual dates on the books. It irritates me that a month prior to this, she has cancelled everyones plans. She is making more of it than it should be, making the managers afraid of it. This will put everyone on edge, making it a scary thing, when we should all be comfortable, acting as if it will be just another day. Asanine... Swimming Pool...Now that the temperature is back down to normal, we have drained, scrubbed, and in process of refilling the pool. I don't know how long it will take, but know that I will have a fruity iced drink with me the next time I see 80 degrees around here. Beemer...I love my bike. The more I get to know him, the more I want to just go riding. We were gone all day today, made a lot of stops, but had a good time. Got stuck behind extremely slow moving Mercedes SUV through the only set of twisties on Highway 9, when Mike finally saw an opportunity to pass. Lets say Detlef can go very fast, very quickly. I don't normally do such maneuvers, but it was all fun, and I made it safely. Mike said he saw the car coming at us, and looked behind to find me, only to see that I was already set in my place directly behind to his right. Personal Grooming...(lol)...I need a haircut, a fill on my nails, and a color change (both nails, and hair)...and Shannon says she is coming over in the morning to help rip the hair off my arms. That should be fun....for her. lol, actuially, I look forward to it. Work Hours...The supervisor hinted to me that I will be doing the Sunday night overnight shift this month. I wasn't consulted about that. Only for tomorrow nights. I know they terminated the kid that has been doing them, but it is not in my availability, and I am damn tired of being treated poorly. I still have to wrok on Monday. Sunday night, 7pm to Monday am at 3. Then back to work at noon, until 8pm (or maybe it is a 1-9pm shift) Then, Tuesday at 7am-3pm. I hope I am wrong, I am too old to be doing that crap. I have always said, I want more regular hours, not that all over the board crap. They are trying to kill me, I am convinced of it. Maybe if I worked three 10 hour shift, and then that crappy Sunday night shift it would work out. Take Monday off all together... Thomas Lake...We stopped there at the end of our ride today. James says outloud that I am his favorite mangaer of all time, and he wants me back. I saw a lot of love comign towards me, even Jeff, whom barely knows me, did stuff for me today. I wanted sweet tea, and they were out of it, and he jumped and said he was getting more from the walk-in. He then promptly spilled it all over, and said he would get the mop. I told him it would require a hot, soapy one, so he did that. He then cleaned the counter top, and I pointed out that it slides under the 'bullnose' and gets under it. He laughed and said, wow, you are not even working, and I am taking orders from you. Whatever, they do stuff for me. Dinner tonight...Tacos on a whim. Took me, Caitlyn and Mike, but we made short work of them. They were upset we are out of sour cream, but I can live without it easy enough. |
