After getting off work at 4:15 this morning, I was to be back at 1:00pm. Somehow the schedule was changed back to last weeks original plan, putting me there at noon, but there was no way I would have said yes to that. Hard enough at one. The manager of the place was on vacation last week, so this week she is there. I have now endured 2 shifts with her there. She is certainly a different animal. Her priorities are this: CLEAN IT, CLEAN IT, CLEAN IT. I guess that is a weaker item on my list, as I don't even see the things she wants clean. A little oil near the VAT...One fry on the floor in front of the fry station...crushed Oreo's at teh Flurry station...Sugar on the counter under the sugar dispenser...Cream dripping from the cream dispenser...These all need to be cleaned PRIOR to serving the customers. I guess once I get the priorities straight I will do okay there. I asked for her help today, as I was struggling, and a guy came in to collect the change from his $20 bill that he left without this morning. IF she could just bring it from the safe (I knew about it, and we were wondering if he was coming back or not). SHe did not get past the fry station. SHe stopped dead in her tracks, and said, "oh no! This is not good"...ummmm, I can deal with a little oil splattered, and two fries on the floor. DO you think guests want us sweeping, or bending to get those with our hands? Then serve them, or take time to wash our hands then finally get their food? And the fact that I do not have it in my physically to bend over a thousand times a day to pick up one fry at a time. I think I referred to her as a bit anal more than once today. OCD type, needing to see a therapist, perhaps. On another note, it is getting easier, and I am getting to know the crew. I had my lunch in a box, and ready to go sit on my break, when they switched my box when I wasn't looking. As my hands were full, I didn't realise the weight difference, and the one lady started laughing her head off. My Spanish is not all that great, but I laughed with her, and called mer Mala, Mala, Mala (spelling?) meaning she was mean, mean, mean...We were all laughing about it pretty good, when the boss came out of the office, mad as a wet hen that we were laughing. I guess we cannot have any fun, just CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN...whatever. Mike fixed his meatball sandwiches tonight. I see he has enough for us to use some as big ole spaghetti balls tomorrow night. YAY! Grandma: I use Niko Niko Calrose Rice for nearly everything, Have not had Minute Rice in my home for more than twenty years. It tastes like ____. I do not know much about my sister. Her computer is in the bedroom, and if Noe is home he makes it to bed before her, and she cannot use the computer while he is sleeping. It makes for bad marriage vibes. She also is the busiest person I have ever known. You are right, I matched my pink nails to my jacket. Our old Betty Crocker Cookbook, from the late 70's has most all recipies that I know. I buy them on Ebay, and give them to my kids when they move out, with each page having notes, just like mine. You will find my dinner rolls, porcupines, and nearly everything you need. I made modifications, but it is generally my mother in a nutshell. |
