I stopped at Staples on my way to work today, and picked up some supplies to make my life easier. I was reimbursed for them. I spent any spare time, labeling containers, and marking exactly where they belong. Hopefully I can make some sort of headway, instead of the big ole mess that it is. I think it will work out fine, as long as the other managers buy into the program. It isn't something I invented, it is in the manual, and it works, or it would not be there. We can make a few changes here and there, to fit our layout. As for the day, I was alone for the most part (no other manager). I think that must mean they trust me. I had a whole lot of crew that can ONLY work in the kitchen, and not a lot of choices for the back booth. I really do not condone having the same person back there for an entire shift. What a headache. I was within the allotted labor allowed, so I think I wont be scolded in any manner, but we will see. The overnight manager wants me to teach him to ride a motorcycle. That is all fine and dandy, but whose bike will he be riding? NOT MINE! I told him if he found a bike he may want to buy, we could go look at it, try it out for him, and even trailer it home. He could learn on that bike, with a learners permit, then take the safety course and get his license. That is a lot of things to work out, and they usually cannot muster up all of that. We did do it that way last year, with Chris, our son-in-law. Oh, then said manager tells me that his SO does not want him to be riding a bike, and she works as a manager there in the morings. I told him I was not going to be crossing her...sheeeesh, put me in the middle of that sort of mess. Mike had pork chops on the BBQ tonight. A bit dry, but tasty none the less... |
