Best Day So Far

It was a decent day at this store. I am still bitter at being sent there, and I do not want to say I had a great day. So, I am settling for the best day so far, as I still know there is no where to ge but up.

One of the other managers set up a 'floor plan' for me, and I looked it over pretty quick, and decided I would go with hers. I will not make that mistake again. SHe missed one person entirely, and I had to find a spot for her, and she had played the favorites game, letting crew choose where to be. I want to make it as easy as possible, in every aspect. The fewer registers to count, the better off we all are. Try not to make one person work in the most stressful place all day, things like that.

One woman was working in the back, when I was told she was a minor (under 18) and would need a lunch break, not just a rest break. HUH? I said to him, "you have got to be _______ me. She looks like she is 30"...I have no words from here on that subject. Just amazing.

The assistant manager was in a bad mood early in the day, but he and I have not worked together much. Today was probably the longest shift we have had together. I had him laughing so hard he nearly peed himself. We then started telling horror stories about our work experiences. It was all good fun. He then sprung one on me...He asked me if I was ready for the latest on the gossip. I said sure I was. He says that the other store is taking bets on when I will kill my new store manager. I said that is pretty harsh. I would never dream of causing bodily harm. I would probably more like just exit gracefully, and walk away. Or go down like the Weasley Twins in a blaze of glory...

I work at noon tomorrow and I need a trip to Costco. Guess I will be there when they open the doors at 9:30, get in and get it done quick. Tonight we had pasta in an Alfredo sauce, with green beans and garlic toast.
