I used to request my birthday off from work. I do not do that any longer, unless I will be out of town. This was the week that I was supposed to be out of town, but that all fell through, so I chose to work. It is always better that way, as I wear a pin that says it is my birthday (you actually have to figure out what it says) It is a medium box of french fries, but with candles instead of fries. Today, Cira brought her homemade tamales for me! Erin brought in a yummy muffin cake thing, covered in chocolate, and then NancyNancy (yes, two Nancys, long story) brought a Chocolate Snickers cake to share with everyone. I don't get that type of attention at home, sulking all day. Mike sent a text, asking if I wanted to go out to dinner, or steaks over the BBQ...yeah, definately the steaks! Then Caitlyn asks what are my plans, I tell her to ask Dad. Brittany is along the Oregon Coast this week, and she spelled out Happy Birthday Mom in the sand, and sent the picture. I thought that was a pretty neat card! Alisha brought Aurelia to see me, too! I have not seen them in nearly 2 weeks, so that was great, too! All in all, it was more than usual, and that makes me happy. I have a late shift tomorrow, so Alisha is coming over here to use the pool. I hope we go out to lunch, too. I need to do a bit of shopping for snacks/protein to eat along my trip Thursday. I am thinking highly of taking the long way to Centrailia...without ever hitting I-5. South to Enumclaw, clock-wise around Mt. Rainier, and straight-shot there. Sounds like a great ride, it is just that I am not accustomed to going solo. Might do it anyway...Sounds a lot more fun that all that freeway pavement. |
