The Barcelona FC was in town today, to have a friendly match against our Seattle Sounders. I have never been much of a soccer fan, but this was incredible. I have paid attention to the Sounders, as this is their first year in the MLS. I have learned a lot of rules, and plays. Also, that a final score of game being 1-0 just might have you on the edge of your seat for the entire 90 minutes. The greatest players in the world, do not play "football" in the United States. The MLS is full of ex-European players, and wannabe's. The US has never been a major powerhouse in the sport, but I think that might change, perhaps in the next 15 years. It will take a while, as the players are paid a great deal more, and our athletes either choose to go there, or even chose to switch sports, to one with a more lucrative contract. Not that I think athletes are worth getting these monster mega-deals, but until a superstar can get what the next guy gets, they won't be playing here. Which brings me to this friendy. WOW! This guy, Messi was touted to be the "greatest player in the WORLD". I watched the game on TV, and I contest, he was the best player I had ever seen. He only played in the first half, and he scored two goals. Ummm, that is amazing! Seriously, I think he could have scored at will, any time he wanted, he just didn't want the score to be too lopsided, or we would not welcome them back, or perhaps we would be too upset if they took our best players to join them. Right now, as a fan, I would be honored to see one of my favorite Sounders players get the nod to play on their team.

Work went well today. Still struggling with a gimpy back booth computer. I see the new one in the box, but I have no idea why they have not installed it. Wish they would leave us a message as to why not. I am thinking of calling Ronald and asking him. It does make it easier to give out breaks however. I do not have to change registers as often. I put one back there, and one up front all day. WHen the one in the back needs a break, I shut down the whole thing, and use single booth, as it is nearly the same thing. Might sound weird, but it is true.

I got home before Mike tonight, so I started dinner. I had a whole chicken that needed to be cooked, and I figured I could use my basil from that plant that I have not yet killed. I cut open the plastic wrapped and was hit with a putrid smell. I then threw it out, and went to Chipotle for dinner. The tag says use or freeze by Aug 7! Today is the 5TH! dangit..I know, I could take it back, but who wants to carry that around? Who wants that in the fridge overnight? WHo wants to go to a grocery store on the day before leaving town for a week? Screw it, It was one sale...

I have a big day planned tomorrow. Going to go borrow a friend of mine, and she is going to help me clean my house...I will then fix dinner for her (not that icky chicken) and her husband.

oh yeah, the final score was Barcelona 4, Seattle 0
