At our store, we have two "Stephanies", last names begin with "H" and "W". Stephanie H has told me that to remember them apart, hers can be called "Helpful", while the other one can be referred to as "Wasteful". Got it. That is the way it has been since I got there, in July. "Helpful" returns to College for her sophmore year, and her last day of work for us was today. She will return during breaks, but that will be a long while, so I made a going away basket for her and delivered it to her on her last shift today. A care package, with loads of stuff one might need in a dorm room. Much the same I had sent with Brittany while she attened the same school. Orea's and peanut butter, Ritz crackers, paper towels, hot chocolate mix, and bandaids. SO much stuff in that box it was quite heavy. SHe was very excited about it, and the thought that I would stop to see her on my way to K-Town some day. She was really sincerely happy about the whole thing, that it really felt good. I will miss her, and wish it was "Wasteful" that was going away. That kid is annoying as all get out. I did much of nuttin' today, other than that. My eye is still giving me problems, and I couldn't adjust to daylight, nor read the newspaper, nor look at the computer screen, so I just sulked in the darkness for an hour or more. Putting the gel stuff in an eye that refuses to open is pretty difficult. Whatever scarring stuff in my eye that is causing this seems to be gaining strength, and when it breaks off, or whatever it is doing, is like scracthing the cornea/lens nearly daily. He had said that if it becomes troublesome he can use the laser to smooth it out. I thought he was kidding. I was ready to find a laser myself this morning, and do it at home. Can't hurt any worse than it is now. Mike forgot I was off today, and went shopping for dinner supplies. He made his meatball sandwiches, and I just let him. I have never helped him with them before, and didn't want to interupt. (burp) They were very tasty! |
