I had so much to do last night that I was too tired to post here. Today was a trial-run inspection at work. The real one will be next month, but we wanted to see where we stand, to focus on our oportunities...

First and foremost, we will need to pad the schedule, so we don't get stuck short-handed. It was the first day of kindergarten, and half the school district was celebrating with lunch. There were so many kindergartners there, all fancy-pants, and cameras clicking, documenting the special occasion, we thought perhaps we should have advertised for it. I was in charge today, as usual, and we ran under 13% labor during the lunch hour. We try to run around 22%, so I could have used some help. The boss was tailing the supervisor, and wasn't able to do much, except when he went outside, she stayed in to speed things along. I made two key mistakes, and should have left crew jobs to crew, but I wanted to "go faster"...oh well, I am certainly not perfect, and I am sure that overall, with what I had we did pretty good anyway. My two mistakes? When taking guests orders, I failed to suggestive sell something....yeah, twice... "You want fried with that?" BS anyway, I think you guys just want to get what you wanted in the first place, and get out.

My eye was giving me a hard time this morning, and I had a difficult time driving to work at 6:30 this morning. I need to remember to get another appointment with that eye doctor. It is very painful. Caitlyn has always slept with her eyes partway open. The same doctor had her on gel drops at night, and was watching them pretty close for a couple of years. She has always had a light sensitivity, and I was wondering today if this is the same type of pain that she had gone through. It made me very sad to think she was in this type of pain at 7 years old. If you have ever had a torn or scrathced cornea, that is what this feels like. I do not wish it on anyone.

I came home, and made salsa to go with the chicken tacos Mike had made. The boss in in washing the dishes as I type. I like having this maid service, even if I am paying for it, in hot water, electricity, food...whatever, I am sure the good karma will come back at me some day. Her husband has found them a house to buy in the Dallas area. The paperwork is started, and the "sold" sign is now hanging. She is filling out applications online, and getting ready to move their stuff from storage into a truck. There is an end in sight, and I will miss having her at work, and at home. Their split-up family needs to be together, and this is the only way it will happen. The boys are living with friends/family and attending school with their friends for now, and the boss goes to see them every chance she gets. She is going a bit nuts about that, but as I said...soon, very soon, it will all work out.
