Crazy Days

We lost another swing manager this week...If you are keeping track at home, that is two down, plus the shorter hours for Kay. We might or might not be obtaining one from another store, but I hear it will be one that is promotable, not yet there. We are getting near desparate, so I will take whatever we can get, as long as he/she knows what he/she is doing, for the mostpart.

The boss whom lives at my house for now, has been working a lot of hours...I mean a LOT. It isn't that she hates coming here, but that there is no manager coverage, so she hasn't got a lot of options. Yesterday, she knew I was watching the baby, so she said she didn't even call me, yet she needed help. I told her I could have left the baby with one of her aunts and gone to help for a couple of hours. At least she knows now. But work isn't the stress that is causing her heartache these days. Being separated from her kids and her husband is. She came home last night looking like she had been through a tornado. Mike asked if it was a hard day at work...nope, not so much, even if it was. Seems her boys are not getting along too well with the temporary caregivers, so she needs to rethink that situation. I said since it was such a short time left in this separation, they could come live here, even it we are crowded and grupmy. It would entail getting them enrolled into one of the two schools within walking distance, and finding some type of caregiver for after school, when there would be no one here. Perhaps my friend Etta could help out a few days a week with that. We would have to get the bunkbed set up again, and two of them would have to share. It would be difficult, but the 7 weeks would fly by pretty darned quick. Mike and I could then celebrate the emtpy nest again. I made her eat a bit of food last night, as she was so upset with everything going on I know she hadn't eaten, perhaps all day long. She said pretty sternly, no, she wasn't interested in food. I said bullshit, and brought her a plate, and said she had to now, since I went to all that trouble. I also brought her a cocktail...a Bailey's Irish Cream Shiver. I said it was a "sleepy-time" drink.

SHe finally settled down, and felt a bit better about all of it, and then her mom calls, offering the easiest solution for now. They will stay with her mom, and be transported to school daily. Walk to the other caregiver lives, and stay until picks them up on his way home. At least they will not have to change schools, for such a short time.

I did indeed have Aurelia yesterday. Her vocabulary has expanded tenfold in the last few weeks. She calls me some sort of "mama" but Mike is "bumpa". She gets so excited to see him, that I even get that way too. He knows we are in the house, so he hurrys up since she hears his motorcycle, and knows he is coming. They really can't wait to see each other. Alisha and Chris took us out to dinner, and then we took the baby home with us. Those two had some sort of a meeting, and picked her up around 11pm. She slept well at my house, amazingly enough.

Alisha and Chris are heading to Vegas! She has given me permission to let my two brothers know, since they live nearby, and she would like to see them, if possible. Oldest one...November 8-11, I think. I will need to call Larry, and let him know, since he only takes calls...even then it is somewhat difficult at best.

We have a big ride tomorrow, with the Chromehead group. Calling it "The Volcano" ride. Going to Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier. Should be 85 degrees, and clear. YAY! But a big day, as we leave Enumclaw at 8:45...it will take us over an hour to get to the meetup spot.
