A "G-Rated Journal" That Even My Mother Can Read (because she does!)

Effervescence is a state of mind. It's about choosing to bring sunshine to the day.
Every person I meet matters.

If it's written down, I know it (If it's not written down, I don't know it)
If it's color-coded, I understand it (If it's not color-coded, I don't understand it)

The more mundane details

Wed Oct 19 - Well, after my breezy post about how things are MUCH improved between a friend and I, let's see what's left to tell you about the past day or so.

Band rehearsal was pretty okay last night, although our keyboardist was just *not* all there last night, which made for some pretty awful mistakes that had us laughing so hard. We've hammered out our "set" for our upcoming show—Remember! Save Saturday night December 3rd to come see us perform in Hermosa Beach, CA!

Afterwards, I dropped off two episodes of Smallville for Lilya and Nate, and then hurried off to coffee. My dearest friend and I closed down the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf until midnight, and then spent two more hours at Norm's, lingering over more coffee and strangely enough, bisquits biscuits. It was actually kind of funny how we ended up ordering biscuits: He had quipped that all the world should be about chocolate cake, because he has chocolate cake back at his apartment. I had to disagree on behalf of Ann's dog, Max, who tells me that all the world is porkchops... and biscuits. Now, Max believes in dog biscuits, but just saying the word "biscuits" out loud made us end up ordering biscuits with our coffee. *grin*

Sorting out all the things I'd left unspoken was so darn incredibly healthy, and our friendship just launched that much further into stability and sanity. Just the very things I was whimpering about yesterday. And knowing how safe it was to talk about the hard stuff will likely keep this kind of cloudiness from happening again.

The only bummer was getting to bed at 3:30 and trying to get up for work in the morning. But with some judiciously applied espresso, I've been doing pretty okay.

The quarterly company meeting was this morning, so I brought along my "Morgaine-shawl" and finally pulled all the pills off the wool. I had a fluffy round pile of wool nearly 3-inches across when I was all done, and my fingers had fallen asleep several times along the way.

Now I'm just trying to pull my calendar together, remember everything I'm committed to attending, find time for all things I need to prepare for and finish by my deadlines, and find time to visit with friends.

Finally, one bad joke to end today's entry (thank you, "The Morning Show" on tv2klbc):

Five Secrets of a Perfect Relationship
  1. It's important to have a woman helps at home, who cooks, cleans up, and has a job.

  2. It's important to have a woman who can make you laugh.

  3. It's important to have a woman who you can trust and doesn't lie to you.

  4. It's important to have a woman who's fun and who loves to be with you.

  5. And it's very, very important that these four women don't know each other.
