Voting Matters

Tue Nov 8 - Strangely, the drive home last night was near impossible. I could hardly believe how exhausted I was, having forgotten that I was running on only four hours sleep. Silly forgetful me. But I did get my personal tasks done by staying late, and I did get home safely, so all is well.

Today class has continued to just fly along. We've finished the agenda for Day Two at about 2:45 in the afternoon. So we'll end a little early today *and* we'll start the day three material after this afternoon break.

I got several errand-like phone calls done during the lunch hour, which confirmed that I have really ruined my relaxing evening by not getting my absentee ballot in time this election. So in order to vote, I have to drive from work back to my "home" town and go to my actual voting place or go to the County Elections office in the county administrative center. So yes, dearies, I will be spending three hours in traffic north just to cast my votes. I hope you all care this much about voting, too.

And then, hopefully traffic won't be too bad on the return trip, because technically I should be in the studio tonight. I'll give the guys a phone call along the way in my evening, to verify how far (or not) I've gotten in traffic, and whether I'll make it there at any decent hour or not. And after the studio, coffee with Saul. Yippee.

Today's Blessing That I'm Thankful For: A well-running car. The right to vote. The finances to be able to afford gasoline, and to afford to keep my car in good repair. And caffeine. I'm very thankful (or I will be, later tonight) for caffeine.
