A "G-Rated Journal" That Even My Mother Can Read (because she does!)

Effervescence is a state of mind. It's about choosing to bring sunshine to the day.
Every person I meet matters.

If it's written down, I know it (If it's not written down, I don't know it)
If it's color-coded, I understand it (If it's not color-coded, I don't understand it)

Random Scattered Thoughts

Random Scattered Thoughts - My head has been all over the place for the past three days. Here's a peek.

Fighting Sickness - I think "colds" should be called "drops." They start in the nose, drop to the throat, and drop to the chest. I went from drippy face all day Tue to no voice Wed to deep hacking cough Thursday and Friday. I'm hoping it drops out of my body by the end of this weekend.

Fixing Awkward Relationships - There were two loose ends tied up at GWW that I'm thankful for. A merchant friend I met in January exchanged emails with me leading up to Estrella. I dropped by to visit him at Estrella, and never heard from him again. I felt fairly abandoned, and confused. I ran into him at GWW, and he was all smiles and hugs and flirts again. Seemed he'd moved, and he was apologetic. At least it wasn't like I did something wrong.

The other loose end: I saw someone I'd been avoiding since last Fall Potrero, and I got to apologize to him for a rudeness he didn't think I'd been showing him. But *I* felt bad avoiding him, and *I* felt like my behavior was not worthy. He was gracious enough to accept the apology, and assured me things were fine between us. I'm exceedingly grateful that my lame behavior was forgiven.

I saw two more friends I hadn't seen since last November, and sadly I don't think everything was repaired. But I chatted with each, and have my fingers crossed that maybe I gave them a little bit of hope that the world wasn't as bad as they thought it was. I'm sorry to see so much has happened to them, but choices and consequences are a personal thing.

Still left to do: I'm really worried I scraped my car door on someone else's car door at a fighter practice recently. And I only just met him, and it's been stressing me out since I left that practice. I *really* need to find a way to get ahold of him and make things right.

I get it now - When my dear friend Lynn launched an amazing website, every now and then she is surprised at the popularity of her venture and its twitterfeed. I accidentally did the same thing this week. Over on LiveJournal (LJ) (on which this journal has an interface, too), there are "communities" in which you can participate. In an SCA costuming community, one lady asked about the yarn she had hand-spun, plied, and was planning to use in knitting project. I answered the spinning question as best I could, then looked all around LJ for a community made up of textile artists of all walks, interested in the historical re-enactors' projects. I couldn't find one. So naturally, I made one and then cross-promoted it on the communities I thought would be interested. Suddenly SCA_Fiber_Arts on LiveJournal took off. As of this writing there are 140 people joined in just 48 hours, 50 posts, 116 comments, and I'm astonished. Truly astonished.

Home for the Clean - Today, I'm staying home with the plan to CLEAN THIS HOUSE!!! I need to "tame the laundry hydra" (to borrow a phrase from Ianuk), have my car engine steam cleaned (again) so that the oil leak can be found and repaired, finish cleaning and putting away everything from camping, and probably attack some computer tasks. Oh, and work on some Pentathlon research. I need to be announcing regularly "got XYZ done towards Pentathlon" since the date is now looming.

Today's Blessing That I'm Thankful For: My newest friends at SCA_Fiber_Arts on LJ. You astonish me.
