Hello Journal & Friends:
I have been so busy lately.....and I have missed hearing from you wonderful folks. I have been in a whirlwind!!!! A GOOD whirlwind....and I have had some terrific family time with my cousins....and I miss them so....:(
A college roommate of Cathy's is coming down from NC tomorrow to visit her a couple days. Cathy is so excited....its been almost a year since she was here last.
Anyway, we had re-staging scans done yesterday with results today. The new regime of Tykerb and Xeloda seems to be doing its job. The lesions in the liver and the tumors are shrinking, the alk. phos. level is almost back to normal, and her potassium is still a little low, but she takes a pill every day for that anyway. She does have a "hot spot" in her thoracic spine that suggests some type of cancer there, which is new, and she has a compression fracture there....but we will just "wait and see" type thing for now....to try and elevate that vertebrae off the one below procedure is really not indicated at this time....that procedure would most likely cause more problems plus it don't "fix" the fracture...just a temporary thing...they insert a balloon, inflate it, and put "cement" in it....she is asymptomatic anyway (no symptoms) and not even in pain with it...so she said she just wants to live a quality life, do quality things, and see what happens....I am in agreement with her....so, friends, all the prayers, words of kindnesses, and support are very much appreciated from all of you....please continue to hold her up to whomever you pray to, and know we need them all, all the time.....
I am starting back in my handbuilding (with clay) classes tomorrow for 6 weeks.....I so enjoy it, and this is my 2nd 6 week course for it....made some pretty cool things before....couple birdhouses, couple bowls, platters, towel rack, and some other things...tee heee.....
