Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

The very air is different.

I walked this morning, around a fairly large block. The sun was coming up, the air was brisk and had an autumny feel to it, crisp and clean and where the hell am I??? This doesn't feel like So Cal.

It feels like we've been transported through space and time to another land, one where pollution doesn't exist and the air invites you to expand your lungs, get giddy on oxygen. Every morning has felt that way this week, and I can't believe it's just me getting up early and walking that's doing it.

Reading the exceedingly talented and inventive Greg's short stories a day has been illuminating in more ways than one. He's bloody talented, that's for sure, but also the stuff he writes about - that has been expanding my brain. Kind of like what they always say, writers have to be well-read or they won't write well, well! I have learned a lot from reading Greg's stuff. I can't begin to approximate it, but my brain has expanded. Kudos to him, and go check his journal out. You won't be disappointed.

Hubby had a bright idea this afternoon. Since I had a little bit of money come in unexpected-like, he suggested buying me a new printer. I was going to toss the cash all to credit cards, but I absolutely HATE my printer - an HP LaserJet 6L. We got it for free from someone who hated it, and I can see why - you have to babysit the damn thing while it prints, or it gobbles ten pages at a time, and then you can't recycle those empty pages through the printer. Extremely annoying when I'm printing out a 400 page novel. (The last time, it took almost 3 hours. ARGH!)

So...I am on a printer hunt, but gee there doesn't seem to be many that JUST print b&w and are laser jets. What is the world coming to? We're going to look at the Brother HL-5140, as PC World gave it a good review. Any comments on laser jet printers? or the Brother?
