Christine's New Chapter
Never look down...

DEMON SOUL was released in MARCH, 2011 by Crescent Moon Press. DEMON HUNT will most likely be released 2012. This, then, is my new reality! The tumor has been removed and I'm recovering, so now it's all about the writing...and dealing with the writing.

Of guitars and haircuts and words

Started my guitar lessons last night with Hubby. Can we all say, "ow"? Actually my fingers are only a little sore, not too bad. And hubby was jealous that I managed to play so well my first time out. (Ha! well at least it's nice he thinks so!)

And I'm actually looking forward to playing again tonight - something else to do with my fingers other than write. I'm hoping that it helps strengthen my wrists but it probably won't. Oh well.

Okay, about my haircut. First we need to go back a week and a day, to last Saturday (the 3rd). Hubby and I went to a wine tasting at our local BevMo, where there were just us two and another woman. The lovely Michelle was there, flirting madly with Frank the person in charge (who is also about 30 years older than Michelle). After much wine and discussion, she told me she's a hairdresser. Ding ding ding! I got her number and the rest is history. It's been so long since someone who really knows what they're doing cut my hair. What a joy! Best of all, she works out of her garage which is totally done up like a salon, and she lives fairly close to me.

After not having a hairdresser ever live in the same city I live in, I am extremely happy with Michelle. Gotta love wine tasting!

In cleaning out his file cabinet, hubby came across some writing of mine from (I'm guessing) 1987. Oh dear. There is an inkling of a good story there, but trite sentences, trite language - I am so much a better writer now than I was then.

What's more, it's a fairly interesting start of a story. Just enough intrigue to keep you guessing. Of course, now I'll have to fully flesh out the characters and the backstory and the conflicts just to make it work. But I've got it tucked away in my idea file...just in case, someday, I need a story about a female photographer and a male ex-ballet dancer...

*snort*.

Today was my last day as Vice President of Los Angeles Romance Authors. I am so looking forward to the coming year, free of RWA's political issues, free of all local turmoil (unless I'm willing to jump in with an opinion), and free of a ton of responsibility.

So. Let the writing extravaganza that is the coming year begin - right now!
