crochet and other things-TGIF

It is Friday, thanks to heaven. Today is the last day that I have to sit at the other Secretary's desk all day.(next Friday is the last day I do whole day duty for the quarter!) Makes for a long day, since I am open to the big boss. She's nice, but when you don't have a lot of work to do, looking busy is hard. I have been reading the archives of Debby-finished hers yesterday. It is fun to read about little ones, since my GDs are all older than her children, memories return.
I found a new person "Woodstock" that seems interesting. I will be reading her archives too. I start with the archives and work forward. By the time I started here, I felt as if I had friends. Have to remember-I know you, you don't know me. That is why so much history is showing up. You have shared your lives so freely and without knowing who is reading..yes, I understand internal editing. I am doing that too.

CROCHETING NEWS: I know those who search by title need to know when something of interest shows up- I have decided to remake my OGD "double wedding ring" afghan. I cannot find the original pattern, it was in a small magazine and that is in storage in Illinois. I have found 1 pattern that is similar and will be working off that. I am still in planning stages. We will see what happens next.

Yesterday I wrote how I really started crocheting. I alluded to how my husband and I got married. I don't want to write the whole story today but I will soon.

Something that hit me as I was coming into work. The way I approach this journal writing is sometimes the same way I would approach essay writing. Not always. I did not start out to be an 'essayist', but it appears we all do that.

Reading- the 'RED PLANET' book that I was reading-I have given up on. The style of writing changed midway through the first book and the author is too ambitious for the whole story to be told all at once. I know when I have lost interest in a book when I would rather play solitare on the computer instead of reading!! Those books will be forwarded unless SO wants to read them.

I don't know if I will get time to write and read this weekend-if I don't talk to you, Have a good weekend. If I do come here please feel free to read. Have fun.
