A New Day

Well good morning. It is time for me to reassess my work habits. Yesterday afternoon I had my 'midyear' review with my manager. He is a good manager. He did point out somethings that I can do and change. He is trying to get me into a position- at least temporarily, that uses more of my skill set. We both realized that I work better under a deadline. Without one, I 'lollygag' along- I work but not as effectively. We set a project with a turn around time of 13 days. (that is a short timeframe here). After the meeting with him, I was speaking to his distribution analyst- she made a comment and when I answered, she asked how much I do for another branch chief. I told her and she responded does _______ know? I have told him in the past, but she is bringing it to his attention again.

I went to a church enrichment program last night. These programs are for the ladies only. This program was on preparing healthier meals. Not much new information, but it was a chance to meet and talk with other ladies.

My crochet meeting falls under the "Enrichment program" file. I need to get some things prepared again for the crochet meeting. Mainly different patterns. This program isn't just for the charity portion-scarfs and hats, but to teach a skill. I need to remember that. I also need to join Crochet Guild of America. Time to plan and budget.

We should find out today if DD will be getting fired. She is in the 'collection' business and has not been meeting the dollar collection goals. Oh well, that will mean more budgeting of funds to send to her. Good thing we can afford some of this.

It is Friday. I have to input the time sheet information. Then I will be starting to work on the special project. A lot of the information is together already-I just have to "analize" it. That is a process that I have not conciously done in a long time.

Plans for the weekend-laundry, organize the apartment which is still in upheaval from our rearrangeing; look through my pile of yarn for a pattern that fell of a skien. Another woman is making the scarf portion, I told her that I will make the hat-that covers Saturday. Sunday will be Church in the afternoon. That is all I know right now. Next week SO will be working OT.

SO spoke to DS last night. All is going ok, it is going to take time for him to get his life in order. He loves his girls, and not seeing them everyday or even weekly hurts. Does anyone out there know visitation rules for the state of Arizona? I think he got screwed by his ex-wife. I know he didn't do some thing that would've helped him. He makes too much for public assistance and too little to get a good lawyer. She had help from her family. Unfortunatly, we couldn't help him when he needed it. Money was already sent to DD for her wedding. If he had told us everything earlier, we could've helped. But this is mom talking and just like my daughter and husband have a special connection, I have that with him. Not favoritism, but spirit matching/meshing. It is funny how those things work. Good thing that my DD could tell me anything anyway.

Well, got to go for now. Work calls.

I am taking a break from work. I am still clearing items off my desk that have been piling up- ie filing etc.

I have reread some of my entries. I need to keep an eye on my word usage. I start typing so fast that I don't see the mistakes. I normally type one word when meaning another, forget the 's' for plurals, and mix my letters up. Usually making a valid word but not the one I was trying for. I believe that these errors are typing errors not true spelling/grammar errors.
