back to work

well, they couldn't keep us out of work all week, not with Monday being a holiday, could they. Not with today being timekeeping day. There is a 2 hour delay start (you have 2 hours extra to get to work, in theory you leave your house at normal time, and if you run late, you run late- I made it in 10 minutes later than normal.) Now I have to find out the codes everyone needs to use for 1 last Friday's four hours, and this weeks Monday through Thursday, and then make sure only those who worked at work and not at home stopped work 4 hours early. There are still people who can't make it in, so that is going to be a real pain, in theory it should be paid by government time, but it is always a fight. Oh, well, I don't make the decisions. Monday is a holiday, I don't expect my boss in early, We will see.

It was a productive shopping time off. We bought a sectional sofa in "Moulan rouge" and an oversize chair and ottoman in "ruby red". The sectional does look red, but the chair and ottoman look more of a raisin brown than red. Eventually we will get an area rug and coffee/end tables. I have seen ones that I fell in love with. The walls of the apartment are pure white and the wood floors are not dark either so the bold colors will look good. I am figuring on the rugs and crocheted accessories to tie them together. The furniture is going to be delivered sometime in March. I believe this is the most new furniture we have bought at one time since we were stationed at Ft. Hood TX when my son was 2 and my daughter 6mos old. It is time for new furniture.

Tonight we are planning on supporting our local economy and ordering dinner out. Don't know what yet, but need to do something other than cook.
