It is getting to spring

At the bus stop, last night, where I get off the bus, I saw the heads of little yellow crocuses(croci?). Spring is here in DC. Soon it will be Cherry Blossom Time. Already the school field trips to the Old Post Office Pavilion have started so now lunch hours are crowded with hoards of young teenagers. The vendors are happy. Us government workers, not so much since it takes longer to get lunch and the selection of places to sit to eat it is very narrow. Oh well, it is spring. I now just carry my shawl, not a heavy winter coat, and it goes over my shoulders when the chill gets too much. This morning I was almost to my bus stop before that happened. It is spring in DC.

Yesterday morning I rescued 2 books from the drop off area of our apartment building-One was "Saving Grace". I read it all before going to bed last night. I now understand 'voices' when it comes to writing. The author used 4 different characters to tell the story, each in first person singular. It was a little confusing at first. I had to refer to the top of page a couple of times until I got the charaters into my head- who smoked, who was the journalist etc. It was not the way I could write-though in a way, I think it was the easiest way to write the story. The "I" story is easiest to tell. Each chapter was a different point of view, but each was an "I" story-so it really became four "I" stories rolled into one and combined. A good story, yes. A well written book-I am not so sure, taking the "I" way for all characters seems like a short cut. But it did allow for alot of character development quickly.

Next book to read-A Woman Betrayed. This was the other book I rescued.
Bye for now.
