BACK!!!!

OH boy, what a week. I like most of my coworkers, but I am tired of being low man on the totem pole and most of them don't forget that and wont let me forget that! Never mind that I am as old as most of them and my total work experience matches or excedes theirs-my grade is lower and they know it. Not to mention that during team building exercises I was fostered into their group. The manager's response was "what are you doing here?" It happened with another group too. That is the attitude tha I find abhorrent. Then manager was told what was happening. She just had to make it verbal for her group. Yesh!

We had personality assesments-called "DISC". Took the assessment awhile ago. Hit me pretty much head on. I do not respond well to change-especially sudden and incomprehensible (to me) change. Give me the reasons, the steps, and what I need to do and I am fine. Last minute changes don't work well. I found out just how bad when my train home was delayed by almost 4 hours. Was suppose to leave a little after 2, didn't leave till almost 6 on Friday. Got home at 9pm instead of 5. Was exhausted. (really still out of it, but that is because let myself get overheated yesterday without drinking water.)

Otherwise, did ok. Socialized appropriately. Did not get drunk like some of my coworkers. Would not let myself go like that. Cannot do that. Must maintain some appearances. Others didn't. They "like to have fun". Did have shopping experiences and hung out 2 nights out of 3 with same group. Then had to change it up. Couldn't do it 3rd night in a row.

The area of Richmond we were in is pretty much dead-had one really nice restaraunt-but that was about it.

Got rooked by cabbie train station to the hotel, found out too late to do anything about it. oh well, live and let learn.
