Go! Go! Go!

It has been non stop today! It is the time of year when the government wants to know if we will spend all the money alloted to run our programs- funds we allocated to supplies, training, program travel etc. A month ago we put "calls" out to the managers and employees to respond by certain dates so that we had the funds claimed. We announced it at staff meetings. We did everything but branded it into their butts. I order office supplies and calendars and toner. No real hassle. I got exactly 5 responses out of a possible 36. Today one of the managers that I see daily decided that there was another item that we really needed. Deadline to get every dollar claimed was today. Then she couldn't see what the problem was. Heaven help us. I don't know how often I looked her in the face when I said send me an email with what you wanted. She wanted to keep the cataloge for awhile longer to look at. I told her point blank-sorry, we are out of time. We even had a week extension because we were out of town last week. She knew all of that. Are we idiots? Doesn't she realize that when she makes my job harder, she makes the likelihood(sp?) of me doing a 'favor' for her if others need my help, less likely? Not to mention that today was the day that I was suppose to input time and to wrap up my travel cost input. Those are higher priority tomorrow. My manager (and her boss) was out today. I think that had something to do with it. But the day did just fly.
