What is that?

Last night we were able to open the garden room window and sliding glass door. A beautiful breeze was coming in, the sun was just starting to set, the birds were chirping, Sweetie's ears were flicking at the sound from her comfortable perch on the couch. Then whoosh, car alarms went off, Hubby went to investigate-this wet stuff was coming in- window/door got closed but not before that roll of thunder! Sweetie's head went to full alert, eyes wide open! Head right, head left-what was that?! Shhhh-it's only thunder. Your're alright. Body tense. Shhhh. Momma's here. Nothing's going to hurt you. Tail flick. "Mew" Shhhh.

Yup, the guard cat that has to observe you coming in, that has to watch the delivery man when he brings food-Chinese or Pizza, doesn't matter, who alerts when someone walks by our front door and has to investigate, is afraid of thunder-not even a full crack, but the slow roll that builds and sounds like a truck rolling by. Poor kitty. She hasn't even flinched with work that they are doing outside and to the boiler(replacement)and we have felt some weird things with the heavy equipment.

Though she is now behaving like a normal cat-it's 5am, time to feed me MEOW MEAOW! rubbing my legs; of course that is to me. To hubby, she is much more polite, meow? and sit in front of him. Yesterday evening I walked in the door at 5:30 and was greeted the same way. I gave her food. Hubby said, "thought we were feeding her when we ate?" "easier to do this than hear her"
