Interesting

We met with the person who will be looking out for our Sweetie while we are gone. His name is Marc. He has lived in the apartment building since 1968 and has compiled a history of the building-in notebooks as a hobby, from what I was able to gather. It makes sense since he worked at the Museum of Natural History, here in DC.

What fascinating stories about the developer-about the original design. I could tell some about the building from the woodwork and growing up in an older building myself. But the stories. I think my husband was ready to kill. Marc got to the apartment around 5 and didn't leave till 8. Shall we say supper was late?! He is an interesting gentleman to talk to and comes from my state-Mass!! I am working on continuing the friendship when we get back. I want to get his notes into order and read them!! apparently one of the previous owners was working toward destroying the building in the mid-seventies and did a pretty good job of destroying some of the original beauty! After he left, hubby said, "I kept on trying to signal you to stop asking him questions!" I was sorry, but not really.

Still waiting to see if my vacation time will be approved. If it is not, still will convince hubby to go without me since gd is looking forward to it soooo much. I think it will be good for him. (and me)
