head spinning

Friday at work I didn't have 'work' and I was sitting at the other secretary's desk. So, I went to the BPD site and started working on the lessons. I had a notebook and I wrote notes-I didn't finish all the lessons. There was a lot of reading to do. A lot of information to absorb. But it was there, and step by step I am working on it. Well, apparently I absorbed enough.

We had a great weekend-minor upsets, but lots of fun. The last of the Borders book stores in DC is closing. Saturday we had to go to the eye docs for both of us, then we ate lunch and went to Borders-40% of magazines, 20-30% off books. We bought the 39 Clues books by DGD doesn't have, dvds and books for us. Then we went home. There was a series she is reading called Cirque de Freak-we weren't sure about so we didn't buy it then.

Sunday was a quiet day-I knitted and we watched movies.

Yesterday we went to Borders again-bought more books, magazines and the Cirque series for DGD. DD said it was ok-we verify things that we are not sure of.

Today DH has doc appointment-physical and will be mailing the books to DGD. At least now she can read them at will instead of borrowing them from my DD friend. (I don't care for her).

But the thing is, even though DH did get upset occaisionally, I managed to keep things on an even keel so that it didn't get out of control. My emotions stayed on an even keel.

Back to Borders-they are undergoing chapter 11 and closing lots of stores-based on performance. Well, rents etc are high in DC proper, so they closed the big stores and just kept the airport stores-4 of them-open. DC is now a Barnes & Noble town. Guess I am going to have to subscribe to the magazines I like.
