Good Morning!

It is a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day in the neighborhood, won't you be mine? Won't you be Mine?

Sorry couldn't resist. I am sitting upstairs today. Flexibility is the key for this job and no matter what I will be flexible! I will smile. I will not let them get me down. I will dress proffessional. I will do my job excellently no matter how picyune (sp?) they get. And I will say, 'Oh, My mistake." Then I will go behind a wall and breath deeply and brush it off of me. (Thanks TT, Rhubarb and who ever else gave that visual! It works!) And I will smile! Smile! Smile!

Another secretary and I were to split today up here. She in the morning, me in the afternoon. But she decided that she was going to take her normal day off after all. She did decide this on Friday-I don't blame her. She has had a hell year! She has fallen twice-broke her ankle in one of those falls and is still on a crutch. Her grandson was killed in a car accident that was not his fault-the other driver was a drunken FBI agent without car insurance(!). Then her house burnt down. Declared total loss by insurance company. She had just remodeled kitchen and painted outside and put on new roof. Fire started in another grandson's basement bedroom-room freshner candle too near curtain. And it tipped over. Flame went out but not soon enough-curtain went up and there went house. Grandson had left house to get girlfriend-he wasn't suppose to. No one hurt, but everything gone. She is in temporary house for 8 months while house is being rebuilt. But she needs to get work schedule back under control. So she went back to normal schedule instead of working today.

I am ok with it, just tired of switching desks. Tomorrow I will have to work at the other secretaries desk again. (I did this on Friday.) One of her friends passed away. The big C. FLEXIBILITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did have a good weekend though. Saturday was spent just reading and relaxing with my leg up. My knee still swells a bit. DH did my laundry-he washed just my clothes. There were too many since we have not been keeping up with all the laundry. We have been going out and having too much fun or staying in and being lazy! Yesterday we made up for it. First we did all his laundry and towels and then our 'play clothes' -up early at 6am. Then time to get cleaned up and head out. So, dressed for the day in nice summer skirt and top and floppy hat and him in jeans and t-shirt we go out to eat at IHOP for breakfast. They were busy! But we got in and out! No pancakes but a 'make your own' omelet with spinach, roasted tomatoes, mushrooms and cheddar cheese with fruit instead of the pancakes is filling enough and lasts till supper. DH had the breakfast sampler with fruit. Then it was off to the movies. OOPs way too eary. So to Bed, Bath and Beyond. Picked up a few odds and ends-a couple of portable battery operated fans to use in the laundry room-no fans make it very hot and still in there! Don't remember what else we bought. Then time for the movie-Cars 2. Slow start. But a good fun flick. Will buy when comes out in disc format. Have decided next time a kids movie comes out, we wait for the cable to carry it to watch it the first time. Too many kids with "when is the movie going to start?" whining in the background. Did get to see the preview for the new movie "Puss in Boots" featuring Puss from Shrek fame. Looks like it will be fun.

Done with the movie, still have to get cat food. So, back on metro, and then cat food. It is now 4. Last we ate it was 10. Tummy rumbling. If we wait till we get home and cook what was planned, it will be close to 7. Uh, not good. I suggest to DH we look for a place to eat and he thinks that it is a great idea. He says where. We cross of 2 restaurants right off the bat-not sure of cuisine or spiciness, haven't heard reviews of either. The I see "Dino's" and I remember reading a review about a year ago. I tell him about it, that it was a good review. We go to the door-they had a Sunday brunch till 3, it is 4:11, we can't tell if it is open, so I try the door and tell my DH, it is open. A worker comes up behind DH and says, "Let me get the door for you!" It is an Italian place. A traditional Italian with a twist. Don't expect your pasta to be drowning in sauce! (hurrah!) The menu says that ringing cell phones will be crushed with a brick! They take their customer's comfort very seriously. Service was great. Food was fantastic! I wouldn't call it traditional but modernized with traditional base. And not a place where they overload the plate either. Just enough of everything!! No humongous appetizer. A main course that was just right and just enough dessert. When the owners wife saw DH sharing bites of each other's meal (not a bad taste in anything), she asked if we would like to try something they were taste testing. She asked if we liked duck. At our nods, she brought over a bite of duck cannolini. Heaven in a bite. We will be returning. A bit more expensive than an everyday place, but well worth it! A true restaurant. And not a TV in sight!!

Then it was home. To a very hungry and lonely cat. Poor Sweetie. She got fed, and we are mixing her cat food a bit. I mixed in a little beef with her turkey and she scarfed it up! Whatever stomach bug she had, she is over. She wouldn't leave me alone last night. She has definately attached herself to me. We have had her 1 year, and she knows her mistress. She goes to DH to be petted now when we are on the bed. She still doesn't like to be held, but,she will put her head on my knee and lie there for hours when I am sitting on the couch.

Last night's TV viewing was interesting. We watched another new show, can't remember the name of it, but it is about a group of 'CON artists that work to bring down the bad guys. Then it was on to "Falling Skies". I do wish that show was on earlier. I know Sci-fi channel has it on at different times on Sunday, (IHOP has a tv in a back room part of the restaurant, that is where we were seated and show was on). That show is good, story lines are good. I hope they develope more of the characters; there is so much potential, just don't want it to become a soap opera like so much of series sci-fi does.
