"The Playground of Life"

Another poem by Gibran, another poem that is difficult for me to get into. I can sort of see what he is trying to say, but he is into too much hidden meaning for me in this poem. I can't think of the term-similie maybe? Saying one thing as an example but it really isn't clear. I have read this poem every morning this week and it didn't get any clearer. Maybe next Tuesday it will be. Who knows.

Ah, already a rebellion to the new time codes!! One group has decided that having to keep track of their time on their timesheet and then inputting into the time keeping system is just too much. They are bowing out of the time keeping portion. I expect that the other two sections will be doing that also. It is alot of work. And it still takes me as much time to review accurately as it does to input! People here at HQ are not use to accounting for their time as strictly as out in the "real world" away from the Beltway. You would think that the world was coming to an end. Even managers are snappish at those who have done this before and are trying to help. Cause we know more than they do. I just provide the hint of "fill out your timesheet every day, before you leave. Don't try to leave it for the next day."

I will be so glad once this program is off the ground and going. In six months it will be no problem. Except managers need to sign & validate weekly instead of biweekly. Oh, well, that will be fine too.

No real plans for this weekend. Too many crowds-I don't do very well in crowds anymore. We will do something though-probably a movie on one day. And definately watch the fireworks on TV in the AC comfort of our living room.

When we got home from work yesterday, there were flyers in the apartment doors. A young woman was mugged after she left the apartment Saturday night. (approximately midnight). Sounds late, but not really out here. She is safe, people from the apartment were about and came to her rescue, her belongings were recovered except for cash, 2 young boys-about 13- are the culprits. And there is a curfew in DC! What is scary is that the previous weekend 2 young men broke into the building and managed to get into an apartment. Using the renters backpack, they robbed him. culprits pictures are on video. So is the method they used to break in. They used something to jimmy the door open. During daylight hours!! People are always going in and out of the building on nice days, how did they do this? Then to go door to door to find one that opened? The renter said that he locked the bottom lock, but not the deadbolt. When we do laundry, we never lock the deadbolt. Oh boy. Area not as safe as it was. Only 5 years! If we stay in this apartment. Unless I get the job with promotion potential which should come open on Tuesday. (Monday holiday delayed it.)
