I'm Back!

Wow, what a week! Driving to Illinois over 2 days isn't so bad. We did hit some construction areas, did learn not to have dry food down in the cage for Sweetie-she ate it all up and then got car sick with in the first hour. Not a happy cat or driver. After that she settled down. Did learn don't stay in expensive hotel that allows cats-whatever they use to launder their sheets causes major problem with my skin, nice rashes all over me!

And our house in Illinois has a condemned sign from the city. (courtesy of last renters not notifying daughter when damage occured.)

So we were a little busy. We have to get architect to look at house. After I calmed my DH down from "we have to tear it all down!" Well, the porch does have to come down. The porch roof wasn't put up correctly and rain water got between the house roof under the porch roof. It is coming down!! Then the renters left the water from the washing machine (disconnected) dripping so there is mold in the basement-that is the second item that caused condemned sign. OK, But if foundation and framework are still good-then we can work around that. Garage has to be torn down. Someone jimmied the door open and now it won't close. And it is full of junk. Daughter put stuff from basement there instead of storing it like I asked. (not that there had been much to store.) Oh, well, At least there was some nice yarn that I didn't remember leaving behind. There were a couple of plastic bins of crochet magazines in the back rooms of the basement (dry rooms!). Couldn't reach bins but daughter will reach it and put in her dry garage for me.

So hold breath and figure it out step by step. We will manage. DD will do without money from us-she doesn't want it. DS will learn too. Found out that he hasn't been doing things that he needs to do to see his kids-that is why we have been sending funds to him, to help him. And he wants to move to IL to stay in our house. Can't happen now. He wants to do that in January-he is running away from his responsibilities. We cannot assist him in that-no enabling. My DD called it Friday night. DH didn't like hearing it from her when I have been telling him the same thing. He still wants to send her money-she tells him no. She told me that she doesn't want money from us. They can make it and they are better for it. It is tight, but her and her DH are not fighting so much. Christmas and Birthdays are ok gift times, but no regular funds from Daddy anymore.

We are planning on going back in April, probably for 2weeks-at least 1 weekend there so we can fully enjoy visiting. DD is too busy during week to spend time. OH well.

I did have a fantastic time with my crochet friends! found some beads to make a crocheted bead lanyard-dark blue and clear. The cloth ones get yucky after awhile, and this way I can get different colors and change them with outfits! I have trouble wearing necklaces with my lanyards. Too many things around my neck!!
