HUH?

Spoke with DS last night. This was preplanned. He has been living on the edge and we have known it. But we never knew how close. A few years ago we sat down with DD and helped her figure her budget and got her going. Never did it with DS. So we planned. I took the following info:

Pay: 13.73/hou 36 hour weeks, paid biweekly 988.56
child support $408/payday 408.00
health insurance(mandated for children)$100/payday 100.00
fed/state taxes, social sec 100.00
balance per pay day 380.56

Yup DS has 761.12 a month to live on. His exwife works 10 hours a week, so he pays more for the children. He rents a room in a hous paying $300 month, plus utilities-and that is what is killing him most. He uses bus/walking for transportation. He lives in Tucson. He has a car but no liscense-lost it. don't know story there. Cheaper rents are in areas not safe. He buys tobacco and rolls own cigarrets; says no drinking, no drugs; is supposed to be on prescription meds. We, or I should say DH, is working up a budget. DS does have computer and internet access-he plays online game, so I gave him a task of seeing what type of grants are available for him to attend school.

He is in a mousewheel, going nowhere fast. He has been with the same company 7 years. No real advancement. I asked him what he wants to do. It is time for him to figure something out. If there was a chance of advancement in the company it would be different, but there is not, not now. Time for him to take the reins.

We will see what happens.
