hapyy New Year 2012

2012

Last year of the Mayan and Old Chinese calendars

Today is the first day of work, and winter has taken hold of DC, it is COLD!

I am alone in the office I work in. One is o) is working ut sick (thank you she stayed home with her germs!). One or two are working from home, and one has her normal day off. So I should get caught up with my filing. I should be able to order my supplies. And my desk should finally get cleared off again!!

Resolution for 2012: To make it into work and be productive.

I am working it.

Crocheting was done this weekend-I finished the shawl I was working on-today I told the young lady that it was ready for her. It came out beautiful. B's slippers were worked on-one done, second one started. I found the original pattern. I am planning on making several pairs for him. We are still waiting on the yarn to come in for me to finish his sweater. The yarn is imported from Italy. According to the shop owner, shipment is being held up in customs. I don't think that I will be buying yarn from her like this anymore. I will buy all her stock at one time or order it myself!!

New Year's celebration was quiet. B made some fantastic steaks, and I made a great salad. We each ate half our steak so the other half will go into a salad for lunch tomorrow. Then we watched "Meet me in St Louis". We ate late, soo that after the movie, it was almost time for the Ball. We switched to TV to watch Dick Clark. I mean, I grew up watching him. Then it was to bed. After we texted the kids. Early for them, but timely for us! No fireworks this year. At least not on our end of the apartment complex.

Sunday we had ham and sweet potatoe casserole for dinner. We got a whole ham. Way too much for one meal, but lots of left overs for different meals and it was a great buy. We ended up eating off of it yesterday for lunch! And it's lunch today. And it was "Lord of the Rings" watching for us. Managed to watch all three movies between Sunday and yesterday.

B opened his camera and printed out the manual. All 54 pages of it. He set up the carrying case and made sure the camera fit in. He was like a kid. Finally, I think I got him a gift he really enjoyed. He put the batteries in and then decided to keep them out of the camera for the time being-just in case they went bad. He was just having too much fun.He used Skull candy earphones too. He went and bought cat food yesterday and had his them in his ears! So I lucked out twice. We'll see what happens as the year goes on.

Talk to you later!
