Countdown

All day yesterday I was saying I had 4 weeks to go to retirement. Uh, wrong. It is 3 weeks today. I heard from the retirement people, get my paperwork in and they will expedite it. So, in 21 days, it is definite, I am retired. Twenty eight and three quarters years government service done. Only two and a half in a different agency.

I have worked outside the home since fifteen with approximately a three and half year break. And that is enough for my body and mind. Time for it to do something else. Others are able to do it for longer and I am glad for them. Others are able to do it for less and I feel for them. But now is my time.

What do I plan on doing? Well, I have been giving that some thought. With my doctor's ok, I plan on getting up with B, eating breakfast with him then going to work out when he leaves for work. I figure to start on the treadmill then work the upper body. Slowly but surely.

After the workout, it will be time for some housework. Limit of two hours a day. I think that it will take a week or so to get each room in the perfect shape I want it in. So, the cleaning will take a month. I will not over do it. Meal planning is in the middle of all of this. And real cooking, not rushed and hodge podge, like some of it is now.

And there will be time for my writing and knit and crochet work.

Now, how soon will this plan go into affect? I don't know. I also know that my health will play a big part in each day's activities. But this plan is similiar to what I did when the kids were real little-on Okinawa when I had control on my time.
