I am an out of the closet, bi-sexual gender queer and have long believed that the personal is political. Perhaps that is simply a bit of 1960s idealism that most people have outgrown; but it remains near and dear to me.

I am the best-selling dark fantasy ebook author of the Dark Brothers of the Light series. I made my first short story sale at 23. it appeared in Amazons! which took the World Fantasy Award for best anthology in 1980

just a short and to bed again

Well, no sleep last night. I almost got to bed. Thought of some notes I needed to make. fought with the computer fixing some things I had put off for months, software conflicts and such that I could no longer postpone because of the virus shit and be certain my stuff was running to max potential, fix problems that were self created (I had managed over a course of months to twist some programs out of recognizable forms trying to make them do things they were never supposed to do , but how was I supposed to know that?) tracking some probs down through the regedit in a manner I had not done in clost to five years (I'm incredulous that I could remember how to do it) and time in the chat for a tiny visit. Finally crawled into bed, around 1AM and almost asleep when the phone rang and I dragged myself up thinking it had to be an emergency when a loud cheery female voice on the other line "And how are you today Duckie! Been trying all morning!" Well, I sleepily double checked the clock on the computer, the fact that it was pitch black out and blinked sleepily and then I realized that it was my friend Lyn in New Zealand. and Yes, it was early afternoon in Dannevirke. Wonderful conversation about writing.

Seems she's written this wonderful novel about an earthquake in Wellington and can't sell it. Very good research. I told her laughingly she'd never sell it in New Zealand for one simple reason "You'll scare the BEEJEESUS out of everyone!" and New Zealanders are hard as hell to scare. She'll sell it eventually I'm certain since she's had six novels sell already. Wellington sits on a grid of six earthquake faults and on a fan shaped induction zone. It's seventy years overdue for a big one that's going to make the San Andreas fault look like a sunday stroll in the park.

Well, I'm going to make another try at getting some sleep without the phone going off. Been trying all day. Sigh.
