I am an out of the closet, bi-sexual gender queer and have long believed that the personal is political. Perhaps that is simply a bit of 1960s idealism that most people have outgrown; but it remains near and dear to me.

I am the best-selling dark fantasy ebook author of the Dark Brothers of the Light series. I made my first short story sale at 23. it appeared in Amazons! which took the World Fantasy Award for best anthology in 1980

Dog in Bondage

Last night I was wakened from slumber by another episode of Dog in Bondage. I had been moving things around and forgot to put my yarn out of Levy's reach. He gets bored easily and, other than raiding the liquor which is dangerous for him, he raided the yarn instead.

LIke most dogs, he likes to shake things ferociously. He's small and only weighs 15 pounds. But definitely strong and just clever enough to get himself into strange situations.

I woke to some piteous whimpering and other half strangled noises which had the effect of alarming me. I got up, staggering in the foggy shrouds of slumber toward the lamp at my desk and stepped into the brilliant spidery web that damned dog had created on the floor. I tripped (as I have more than once before over the seven years I've put up with this) and snarled as my face headed for my desk. But I caught myself on the edge (damn my hands and wrists hurt, but better that than the face) and managed to
reach the lamp to turn it on. Levy was tied up under the opposite desk, securely wrapped in bright rainbow yarn and my feet were tangled in it. He had created this mess joyfully until he realized he was totally intangled. Then he had to roust me to help.

I disintangled myself first with the aid of a pair of scissors from the desk and then cut some strands on Levy and unwrapped him. At this rate I'll never have enough yarn left for that afghan I promised my son and his girlfriend .
