Red apples and green apples.

I wish after years I can remember "Dear Abby" from Ann Landers. One of them said, "Church is not a museum for saints, it is a hospital for sinners." I wonder if this was the one who, in the column of course, told a woman who slapped a man who made moves on her in an elevator and was beaten to a pulp she asked for it. "Succubus of Satan," was one for the more mild expressions of outrage and she recanted. Of course, overall it made for more columns.

Oh, I'm a cynic?

My Dad is blind and frail, Mom is simply barely mobile after spinal infections and other ailments, and we two closest brothers get many calls she's fallen down and he can't help her. After four and a half years a very good place was found for them and on the verge of commencing the move he is refusing. One of his whines is a home will "kill her".

He insists on church every weekend but when confronted about the fragility of their situation, refusing in-house and other help he bawls he wants to "end it". And he's endangering Mom further.

Somewhere the old Lakewood Spur Posse are showing they can kneel deeper in the pews and stand faster when the priest-o-phile enters than the other inferior peasants.

Boy, I love this God and all the drones who enable him. No oranges here, just comparing bad apples.
