Stringent encounter.

I visited a location of my easy and fresh market and headed for the "used" section. Bad joke! I meant marked down, emphasis on soon to expire. Today there was not a lot there, which is par for about 10 in the morning. The "show" for this chain is early afternoon, especially at another store; it's everything but the numbered ticket as folks ring the treasure trove in layers.

This morning the refrigerated shelves were bare. The room temp displays didn't even have fruit and baked goods but here were several jars of "bottled" pie filling and a few cans of store brand muffin mix.

And a lone lemon, for all of seventeen cents. A melancholy hit me: the lemon tree at the folks' twilight zoned-slash-former house is producing a lot and I picked a bag, now going bad in my trunk, from which a few have taken my offers but not to the extent that would be good.

Poor little store lemon. Hey, it's not just my world and someone just may take it.
